Hardknott Roman Fort & Thermae
This remote and dramatically sited fort was founded under Hadrian’s rule in the 2nd century.
Situate by the side of Hard Knott pass you could easily miss this site is even there. After driving up and over the pass we stopped to go visit the fort. Impressive site and even more impressive views, stunning is an understatement.
Derwent Water
The third largest lake in the lake district. Situated next to Keswick and with Cat Bells fell in the distance, and Skidaw fell just behind. Stunning location!
